Veterans Recovery in Action (VRA)
This service provides outreach to all Veterans struggling with addictions. There is information and literature available from different twelve step recovery programs, treatment facilities, government resources as well as a safe place to meet for a weekly twelve step based support group. In this group the Veterans can share and help one another with their addiction issues. The VRA meetings combined with the other therapies have proven to be very helpful in the recovery process. Meets Every Thursday night from 6pm to 7pm Upstairs in the FSP Room. Meeting is for Veterans only! Shamanic Journeying Workshop We learn various techniques to journey to the lower and upper worlds through use of drums and rattles to meet guides, gather information and insight. This is a half day workshop, including journaling and discussion of experiences. Located in Auburn, CA at the Healing Light Institute.
Sierra Nevada Meditation Retreat For two days and nights we spend our time in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains of eastern California, taking an inward journey through the meditative process. By initially focusing on the breath, we stay in the present moment, being mindful of ourselves, our environment and learning patience. The trip also includes sound healing, shamanic journeying, movement and breath work.
Other domestic programs include mountain climbing and sailing. Details to follow.
